The SAP PM/MM Data Controller would be expected to become the owner of a functional workflow process for the Enterprise Asset Management processes and SAP system, together with supporting IT infrastructure for plant maintenance, with Accountable for the design, performance, governance and continuous improvement of assigned functional workflow(s), ensuring they are efficient, compliant and aligned with business objectives.
The role provides first-line support to manufacturing SAP users, leads continuous improvement of maintenance and data systems, and supports the development of key IT platforms including Aveva PI Vision, Factory Information Systems and web-based intelligent interfaces to improve safety, quality, cost, production, maintenance and reliability performance.
- Roles and Responsibilities
- As own of the functional workflow processes for the Enterprise Asset Management processes and SAP PM/MM systems, ensuring process strategy, lifecycle management and continuous improvement are effectively owned and delivered across the Greatham site.
- Create, Change and manage PM data within the SAP system (ie Functional locations, equipment, materials, BOMs, task lists,
- Maintenance plans etc)
- Manage Complimentary Systems (eg Fluid, Pipe and Value System, New materials request database-engineering spares)
- Educate, coach and influence manufacturing users in the effective use of SAP PM, Factory Information Systems and other web-based intelligent interfaces.
- Provide technical support, guidance and solutions for SAP PM and related system issues, developing and implementing improvement strategies that enhance maintenance, reliability and transactional efficiency.
- Develop and enhance SAP Planned Maintenance module functionality, ensuring working practices across the site are consistent, effective and aligned to maintenance and reliability requirements.
- Ensure common working practices for master data management across plant areas, planning and prioritising master data maintenance work to support statutory, maintenance and CAPEX programmes.
- Manage the site SAP role allocation process, ensuring access roles are appropriate, users are adequately trained and internal or external skills update training is provided where required.
- Work towards deliver of automated reports aligned to business goals, providing targeted performance information for stakeholders including the Site Director, Site Leadership Team and Engineering Managers.
- Support/liaison with external suppliers to deliver Computer Aided Engineering solutions and manage the development of the site’s Aveva PI Vision Factory Information System to improve safety, quality, cost and production performance.
Experience and Qualifications
- Educated to HNC level in an engineering discipline, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant industrial experience in Asset Management, maintenance systems or capital project execution.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP PM and maintenance performance metrics, including OEE, MTBF and MTTR.
- Experience developing performance management reports, automated reports or business intelligence tools.
- Ability to handle a complex organisational environment and simplify complex issues to deliver value.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong people skills, with a sharing, coaching and learning approach.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and apply them effectively.
- Well-developed IT skills, including Excel, PI/FIS and the ability to create tools, reports and analysis within relevant software packages.
