IT Support & Operations Technician - 1 Vacancy
The IT Support & Operations Technician ensureseffective administration of IT systems and technologies, working to capture IT demand from the business. This role is based at Greatham Site, and supportsTioxide locations including Greatham, Stockton and Wynyard, with regular travel between sites.
Effective monitoring and administration of IT Systems.Work under the guidance of line manager and IT Operations Engineers to participate in maintenance and improvements of IT Systems.Provide direct user support, deskside and remote, including responsibility for end-to-end ownership of Service Requests and Incidents.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- IT Support - Provide hands-on deskside and where appropriate, remote IT support across Tioxide locations, taking ownership of incidents and service requests through to resolution and escalating appropriately where required.
- Provide local technical support for users, devices, infrastructure and IT services, including hands‑on assistance to IT colleagues and third‑party service providers across supported locations.
- IT Operations - Support the monitoring, administration and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure, leading to developing capability across areas including Microsoft 365, identity and access management, networking, telephony, patching and technical applications.
- Projects and Change - Support IT projects, technology deployments, upgrades and site changes, including installation, configuration, testing and implementation activities.
- Service Management and Improvement - Maintain accurate service, asset and technical records, work in accordance with agreed IT processes and controls, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
- Technical Development - Develop technical knowledge and operational capability through practical experience, training and working alongside IT Operations colleagues, progressing towards increased responsibility within the IT Operations function.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the following fields: Information Technology, Computer Science, Technology Management or equivalent experience or 3+ years in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Technology Management,
- Relevant experience working to an ITIL framework
- Systems / application management
