Setting Out EngineerAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Setting Out Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction projects are accurately set out and delivered to the highest standards.This position requires excellent technical knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, proven experience using AutoCAD, and the ability to work collaboratively with site teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within specification.Key Responsibilities-Carry out accurate setting out for construction works using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment.-Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and site plans.-Use AutoCAD to review, interpret, and work with technical drawings and construction plans.-Establish site control points, benchmarks, and reference grids.-Verify dimensions, levels, and alignments before and during construction.-Monitor construction progress and ensure work complies with design specifications and tolerances.-Produce and maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information.-Liaise with project managers, site managers, subcontractors, and designers to resolve technical issues.-Conduct quality assurance checks and assist with inspections.-Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.-Support project planning by identifying potential engineering challenges and proposing practical solutions.-Essential Qualifications-Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline.-Valid CSCS Card.-SMSTS or SSSTS certification.-Full UK Driving Licence.-First Aid at Work certificate.Essential Experience-Proven experience working as a Setting Out Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, groundworks, or building projects.-Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering principles, and site practices.-Experience using Leica, Trimble, or Topcon surveying equipment.-Experience carrying out topographical surveys and producing as-built records.-Knowledge of quality control procedures and construction tolerances.-Skills & Knowledge-Excellent understanding of the role and responsibilities of a Setting Out Engineer.-Strong mathematical and analytical skills.-High level of accuracy and attention to detail.-Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.-Strong organisational and time management abilities.-Confident problem-solver with a proactive approach.-Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry best practices.What We Offer-Competitive salary based on experience.-Ongoing training and professional development.-Opportunities for career progression.-Modern surveying equipment and technology.-Supportive and professional working environment.If you are a dedicated and experienced Setting Out Engineer with strong technical skills and proven AutoCAD experience, looking to join a company that values quality, teamwork, and professional development, we would like to hear from you.
