The Strategic Initiatives Manager is responsible for playing a pivotal and central role across a range of projects that enhance our network footprint and capabilities with a particular focus on stablecoin activity. We are seeking an experienced Manager that is ready to apply their payments and delivery expertise to guide the design and implementation of solution strategies that accelerate usage and revenue for Visa Direct, including scaled business process and technology infrastructure, alongside world class industry/developer solutions.
The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter who will manage a portfolio of high-profile initiatives such as executing on Visa’s global digital asset regulatory strategy, partnering with global teams and external advisors to identify and mobilise new solution opportunities, and thinking innovatively to drive acceleration initiatives across the broader Visa to support on digital asset permissions and use-cases. This role will be expected to develop both short- and long-term strategies, while influencing leadership across the company to implement and execute.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Support and lead our global expansion activities across digital asset permissions in partnership with the broader organisation.
- Execute strategy for stablecoin permissions and use-cases, considering partnership and other opportunities for Visa.
- Work collaboratively within a team focussed on strategic initiatives that drive long-term enablement for money movement and broader Visa objectives regarding regulated activity.
- Conducting analysis in liaison with business stakeholders (including compliance and legal) to define business and enabling requirements, along with operating model and design.
- Taking ownership of critical project delivery activities, and adept at preparing materials, considerations and approaches for execution.
- Working with external advisory and support teams to problem solve key considerations, regulatory requirements, and issues.
- Leading regular project review and governance forums with senior stakeholders and partners.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of the payments industry or stablecoins/digital assets (preferable).
- Demonstrable experience in the payments industry, specifically in cross border payments.
- Highly strategic, strong business acumen, with great intellectual agility and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across different disciplines both written and oral.
- Strong team player, self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Ability to influence, negotiate and drive results, ensuring that timelines are adhered to and any risks to the project are called out early.
