The Group Product Manager role sits within Visa Direct’s Currencycloud product and is responsible for leading a tribe (a distinct product area consisting of a group of teams) that builds the infrastructure powering how money moves globally. You’ll help businesses send, receive and manage funds across borders quickly, cheaply, and with full transparency and control. Money movement sits at the heart of how businesses and consumers operate, so the work your tribe does has real, measurable impact.

You’ll own the tribe’s product strategy and direction, working across multiple teams and product areas to ensure you are solving the most important problems for customers and the business. You’ll turn company and platform strategy into a clear set of bets, roadmaps and outcomes for your tribe, and create the context and alignment for teams to execute effectively. You’ll directly line manage Product Managers, giving fast feedback, helping them grow, and building a high‑performing product team. You’ll work closely with engineering, commercial, operations, marketing and other leaders to shape priorities, manage trade‑offs, and ensure the tribe is set up to succeed. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, deep market and customer understanding, and strong leadership. It reports to a Product Director or Senior Director. This is a hybrid position based in London Paddington office. Requires 3 days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) attendance in the London office.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Vision: Develop and communicate the product strategy for your tribe, aligned with company and platform goals. Lead market, customer, competitor and technology analysis to identify opportunities, risks and strategic bets for the tribe. Build alignment and secure buy‑in for the tribe’s strategy and roadmap with stakeholders and senior leaders, clearly presenting trade‑offs on behalf of teams and the wider tribe. Work with Product Managers to translate strategic goals into clear roadmaps and backlogs, ensuring teams are focused on the highest‑impact problems.
  • Discovery: Act as accountable product lead for large, cross‑tribe discovery initiatives, especially where the problem spans multiple teams or domains. Guide discovery approaches across the tribe so teams are consistently uncovering real problems, unmet needs and meaningful opportunities. Support and train PMs and POs on discovery best practices, helping them use data and customer insight to separate signal from noise. Ensure the most important insights and learnings are shared, understood and acted on across the tribe.
  • Delivery: Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of critical initiatives within the tribe, from shaping and prioritization through to launch. Work with engineering and delivery leaders to make sure the tribe’s roadmap is realistic, well‑sequenced and delivered to a high standard. Help remove cross‑team blockers, manage dependencies and adjust plans when needed to keep the tribe moving at pace. Set expectations for quality, reliability and ways of working, and ensure teams are consistently meeting them.
  • Adoption and Impact: Partner with Product Marketing and GTM teams on go‑to‑market strategy, positioning and launches for major tribe initiatives and help to drive best practices for PMs. Drive adoption and usage of your tribe’s products across regions, segments and use cases. Define and track key metrics for your tribe, and use data, customer feedback and commercial insight to refine strategy and roadmap. Make sure the impact of what the tribe ships is clearly understood and communicated, and that learnings feed back into future plans.
  • Leadership, People and Tribe Management: Line manage Product Managers in the tribe, owning the performance of your team, including hiring and growing great people, tackling underperformance quickly and fairly, and giving regular feedback to build a high‑performing team. Create clarity and alignment across multiple teams and functions, especially when working on cross‑tribe or platform‑wide initiatives. Build strong relationships with stakeholders and peers, advocating for your tribe’s priorities and securing the resources needed to deliver them. Help shape how the tribe operates: ways of working, rituals, standards for product craft, and how teams collaborate.

What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, well‑understood tribe strategy and roadmap, with stakeholders and teams aligned on where you are heading.
  • The tribe consistently delivering high‑impact initiatives that drive measurable outcomes for customers and the business.
  • Product areas within the tribe gaining adoption, performing well and improving over time.
  • PMs in the tribe growing in confidence, capability and impact, with you seen as a trusted leader and coach.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration and a tribe that is seen as high‑performing, reliable and easy to work with.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
  • Typically, 5–7+ years’ experience in product roles (e.g. Product Manager, Senior Product Manager, Product Lead or Group Product Manager), ideally in fintech or a tech‑led company.
  • Proven ability to craft and communicate product strategy and roadmaps using market research, customer insights, competitive analysis and data.
  • Experience managing and coaching Product Managers.
  • Strong prioritization and product judgement, with a track record of making clear trade‑offs and data‑informed decisions.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing decision‑making at multiple levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
  • Ideally, experience in fintech domains such as payments, FX, transaction banking or trading.

Personal Qualities

  • High agency and a strong bias to action: you create momentum at tribe level, not just within a single team.
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, set clear expectations, and give fast, honest feedback.
  • Analytical and commercially sharp, focused on driving meaningful outcomes for customers and the business.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo, simplifying complexity and making pragmatic decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to tailor messages for different audiences, including executive stakeholders.
  • Structured and organized, with strong attention to detail, while keeping a firm grip on the bigger picture.
  • Intentional about culture: you care about how work gets done, not just what gets delivered.
