Job Description

The Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) team is a world-class commercial organization experiencing tremendous, double-digit growth as we expand into new payment flows and continue to grow our core card solutions. This is an incredibly exciting time to join our team as we expand globally. We work closely with Issuers, Merchants, FinTechs, Acquirers, and other payment ecosystem players to deliver these services. We believe that the B2B market is at an inflection point whereby Visa can play a larger role in building and delivering solutions around the world. The B2B Acceptance Strategic Merchant team is responsible for expanding Commercial Acceptance with B2B Merchants. The Director Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving net new acceptance with B2B Merchants by leveraging creative solutions that deliver value to all parties involved. This newly created role will also lead Visa’s efforts in retaining and recapturing supplier spend that has migrated away from the Visa network. The Director will engage directly with suppliers to articulate the value of Visa acceptance, and collaborate with buyers to secure endorsement and drive engagement. This position requires a strategic thinker and proactive relationship builder with strong financial acumen and a deep understanding of B2B payment ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify B2B Acceptance opportunities, gain access to key decision makers, develop and execute strategies to move opportunities through the pipeline, and effectively manage a pipeline.
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and re-engage suppliers whose spend has declined or shifted away from the Visa network.
  • Build compelling value propositions for Visa acceptance tailored to supplier and buyer needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., issuer relationship management, merchant team, supplier enablement, acquirer relations, product) to identify new opportunities, remove onboarding barriers and accelerate adoption.
  • Ensure merchants/suppliers are optimizing their acceptance environment through use of appropriate tools/solutions.
  • Drive deep analytics and deal-modeling leadership, through partnering closely with regional Account Executives and Business Development Associates, Pricing and other functions.
  • Monitor and report on supplier engagement metrics and spend recovery trends.
  • Recruit senior leaders at corporations to attend Visa forums and events.
  • Represent Visa at industry events.
  • Travel requirements: 20% of time.

Location: London. This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD.
  • Experience selling B2B Payment Acceptance with large strategic suppliers.
  • Proven experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or merchant services.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to articulate the value of working capital to large corporates.
  • Self-starter with a track record of building and executing go-to-market strategies.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills across supplier and buyer ecosystems.
  • Experience navigating complex onboarding processes and working with acquirers or reseller channels.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
