The Analyst role in the Strategy and Commercial Operations team supports cluster strategy development and execution, driving financial goals, and enhancing commercial capabilities to grow Visa’s business within the cluster. The position involves collaboration across multiple teams to align strategy with business planning and sales operations. The major focus for this role is on supporting our critical client engagement and events activities. The role will also work on other UK&I cluster Strategy and Operations activities and contribute to ensuring the cluster meets or exceeds its financial (i.e., Net Revenue and Net Income growth) and scorecard goals. Further responsibilities include supporting key cluster governance and the application of operational insights to orchestrate delivery of the strategy.

Client Engagement

  • Provide administrative, project management and content development support to the Client Engagement Senior Manager with developing and delivering best in class client engagement events and thought leadership.
  • As and when needed, support the Commercial Development and Strategy team (in collaboration with Group Country Manager and Country Managers) to create the Visa content for Client Councils and other client events.
  • Targeted opportunities for direct client engagement to support strategy development, RFPs, or wider industry engagement.

Strategy > Execution

  • Input into cluster business planning cycle linking Multi-year strategy plans to Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR). This includes ensuring Value-Added Services (VAS), and Commercial Money Movement (CMS) strategy, as well as Go-To-Market (GTM) plans, are fully integrated.
  • Supports workstream level execution of cross functional initiatives that are of high strategic impact to business (i.e., market acceleration, GTM initiatives).
  • Contributes to identification and capture of new Generative AI use cases in support of business growth and industry evolution.
  • Supports the Commercial Development & Strategy team, Country Managers, Functional teams, and specialized sales teams to develop client and cluster specific business plans and targets aligned to strategy.

Governance

  • Support the implementation of key cluster governance e.g., cluster leadership meetings (operational and strategic), leadership team offsites and sales pipeline reviews.
  • Creates selected content for the cluster Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and may assist in the creation of selected content for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR).
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in driving governance simplification, enabling high quality decision making and aligning to wider corporate governance e.g., QBR etc.

Cluster Operations

  • Support key cluster operational activities e.g., development of selected content for executive visits.
  • Inputs into internal audits and risk registers (supported by Ecosystem Risk Team).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement/efficiency across business area.

Sales/Commercial Operations

  • Contributes to a strong sales and performance mindset and culture across the cluster.
  • Captures and prioritizes client feedback to inform strategy and commercial priorities.
  • May act as a point of contact with the Sales Excellence team for sales related queries and analysis.
  • Contributes to sales training strategies and supports the delivery of targeted training priorities for clusters.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office; expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate skills in collaborating with, leading and influencing senior executives.
  • Flexibility and ability to adjust on the fly to new demands.
  • Highly analytical, with ability to synthesize deep quantitative and qualitative analysis for executive audiences.
  • Some experience managing complex strategic initiatives within cross-functional teams.
  • Commercially focused and a pragmatic self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities and propose solutions.
  • A sense of urgency, assertiveness, and directness.
  • Ability to think longer-term coupled with fast execution of short-term priorities.
  • Proven capacity to be a respected and valued partner at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Excellent presentation skills – both in preparing compelling ppt decks and telling a convincing story.
  • Prior experience in Corporate Strategy / Strategy Consulting preferred.
  • Knowledge of the payments business and financial services.
  • Naturally curious, with a demonstrated ability to self-initiate, lead and embed excellence in delivery.
