Job description

This new and modern nursery, open for just six weeks, is rapidly growing and seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant team. Our nursery caters to children aged 2-5 years, providing a nurturing environment that fosters holistic development, independence, curiosity, and a love for learning. Our bright and spacious, hall-based facility includes a beautiful outdoor space for the children to explore and enjoy.

This nursery is located just a 10 minute walk from Grays train station and has free parking on site. The nursery is open from 8am – 6pm all year round and closes between Christmas and New Year.

You will be joining a nursery with ambitious plans, where the staff team are stable, happy and enthusiastic about creating amazing experiences for the children within their care. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic person, who can work closely within a growing team. You should possess great communication skills and have a calm, approachable nature.

Duties include:

  • Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.
  • Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.
  • Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent.
  • Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.
  • Requirements:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification – essential
  • Over 1 years\’ experience of working in Early Years – desirable
  • Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements
