Job Description
A nursery in Reading is looking for a Level 3 Nursery Nurse to join their team!
Full Time role: Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm
Salary: up to £28,000 per annum
Qualification required: A RECOGNISED LEVEL 3 CHILDCARE QUALIFICATION – NNEB, B-TEC, NVQ 3, LEVEL 3 EYE OR EQUIVALENT QUALIFICATION. OVERSEAS QUALIFICATIONS SUBJECT TO COMPARISON BY THE DEPARTMENT FOR EDUCATION
Benefits: 31 days holiday including bank and public holidays, all mandatory training including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Child Protection, Fire Safety, and Food Hygiene.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, sharing this commitment.
- Providing a warm and caring environment, maintaining high standards of childcare.
- Being a good role model for other practitioners to promote high standards of professional practice.
- Working with room leaders to deliver the relevant curriculum in line with current legislation.
- Working as a key person for a group of children, ensuring individual needs are met, and keeping relevant records and learning journals up to date.
- Delivering suitable experiences to meet individual needs, including adaptations for inclusive practice and promoting challenge where appropriate.
- Partnering with parents/carers, recognizing them as the children\’s prime educators.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, reporting issues promptly.
- Supporting and guiding other practitioners.
- Ensuring accurate record-keeping in line with GDPR regulations.
- Respecting privacy and confidentiality, complying with legal requirements.
Options for Hours
Option 1: Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm, 43.75 hours/week, with an attendance bonus of up to £90/month for no sickness absence the previous month.
Option 2: Monday to Friday, shift pattern 8am-5pm/8:30am-5:30pm or 9am-6pm, 38.75 hours/week. Options can be discussed prior to employment.
