Job description

We are currently recruiting for a motivated Modern Apprentice to join the team in this well established city centre nursery. You will undertake an apprenticeship in childcare where you can work and train in the nursery setting to become a qualified childcare practitioner.

The qualification can be funded by Skills Development Scotland

The role will involve:

  • full time position in a nursery setting where you will learn and train how to deliver effective care and learning
  • full training programme learning from the nursery
  • working as part of a team
  • developing care and pedagogical skills to support each individual child\’s care and learning needs
  • designing and delivering learning experiences to develop each child
  • supporting the workings of a nursery
  • developing knowledge of theory and child development
  • understanding the theory and practice around Getting It Right For Every Child
  • developing your knowledge of frameworks in relation to early learning and childcare
  • Alongside this role the successful candidate will also be supported and guided through their qualification. This will include:regular meetings with your allocated SVQ assessor, completing written work to support your accreditation and competencies in each area of your qualification. The qualification will be delivered by Tinies Glasgow Training Centre (SQA accredited).
