This setting based in St Albans is looking to hire an Early Years Practitioner/Early Years Assistant. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic nursery practitioner to join our friendly team. If you have a passion for childcare and a desire to nurture young children, we want to hear from you.
They can offer full-time or part-time hours: 8am to 6pm, 4 days per week; 5 days per week, 12-6pm.

Salary:
- £21,415.68 per annum, 4-day week, Unqualified
- £22,464 per annum, 4-day week, Qualified
- £26,769.60 per annum, 5-day week, Unqualified
- £28,080.00 per annum, 5-day week, Qualified
Additional benefits include 22.5 - 28 days holiday per year plus Bank Holidays.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual education and care for children in the nursery.
- Provide for children's holistic development through an environment fostering self-esteem and autonomy.
- Implement the daily routine under the supervision of the Room Leader.
- Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, participating in planning once trained.
- Support children's learning and development.
- Work with the Principal and management team to uphold the nursery's ethos.
Main Duties:
- Operate a suitable programme of activities in conjunction with the Room Leader.
- Prepare and update children's developmental records regularly.
- Work in partnership with parents and guardians.
- Implement Individual Education Plans under the guidance of the SENCO and Room Leader.
- Support children with special educational needs for full integration.
- Implement the Keyworker system and mentor new practitioners.
- Attend staff meetings and training outside usual hours.
- Follow nursery policies and ensure positive behaviour management.
- Assess health and safety hazards daily and report hazards.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake domestic duties such as snack preparation and equipment cleaning.
- Promote inclusion, equality, and diversity.
- Support the nursery's philosophy and ethos.
