Our client is a small, homely nursery setting located in Brighton. They are an eco-friendly nursery with a holistic approach, incorporating their environmental ethos into the daily lives of the children through features such as solar panels, vegetable patches, recycling initiatives and animal care.
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Nursery Manager to support and oversee the daily operations of their childcare setting. The ideal candidate will have strong management and leadership skills, along with a genuine passion for early childhood education and working with children. This is an excellent opportunity to lead and support a team of childcare professionals, maintain high standards of care, and help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners.
The Senior Nursery Manager will be responsible for supporting regulatory compliance, contributing to the development of programmes, and building positive relationships with parents, children and staff.
- Take responsibility for the setting alongside the Nursery Manager, and in their absence
- Lead, support and manage the nursery team, including recruitment, training and performance appraisals
- Oversee daily nursery operations to ensure smooth running and high-quality care
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, health and safety regulations and nursery policies
- Foster a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where children can learn and thrive
- Maintain strong communication with parents regarding their child’s progress and wellbeing
- Manage administrative tasks, including budgeting, staffing schedules and resource planning
- Promote professional development within the team to enhance childcare standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain excellence across the nursery
Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare
- Proven management experience within a nursery or early years setting
- Strong knowledge of childcare practices, child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Full-time availability, approximately 35–40 hours per week
