We are looking for an experienced floor-based Deputy Manager to join a growing team in a family run, private nursery in Thames Ditton.

Responsibilities and Experience

  • Has experience in leading a room - this role is floor based
  • Has a positive and encouraging approach to managing a diverse staff team
  • Has a genuine passion and enjoyment for working with children
  • Has a commitment to safeguarding and will support the nursery in its high standard of safety and safeguarding
  • Has a friendly personality with a flexible and calm approach
  • Has a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare
  • Is motivated to manage workload, deadlines and manage time effectively to deliver the desired results
  • Ensure the nursery complies with all relevant legislation, plus local authority and OFSTED requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures
  • Build positive relationships between children, parents/carers and team members
  • Enable the team to provide rich learning opportunities for the children
  • Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion
  • Ensure that staff adhere to nursery policies, objectives and code of conduct
  • Promote and maintain the Nursery's reputation for providing exemplary practice
