- Propose how new technologies can innovate Azar, assessing their investment value based on technical and business feasibility and long-term technological advantages.
- Redefine business requirements into AI/ML problems, designing solutions by reviewing deep learning, classical machine learning, statistics, optimisation, and more.
- Explore theoretical optimal solutions within given constraints, based on a deep understanding of problem structure and ML theory, rather than merely adding heuristics and exceptions.
- Tackle unresolved high-difficulty ML problems and urgent business issues directly.
- Validate changes in user experience and service metrics beyond offline model performance to create long-term product and business outcomes.
- Understand the entire ML system, connecting data, learning, evaluation, experimentation, serving, and feedback beyond individual model performance.
- Design the structure of the entire system and the role of each component from an ML perspective to enable fast, reliable experimentation and continuous improvement.
- Align research topics and solutions with other ML Research Scientists, guiding each research towards a unified technical strategy and product performance.
- Lead technical decision-making to ensure research results are applied to actual products in collaboration with Machine Learning Software Engineers, data engineers, and product organisations.
Requirements:
- PhD in machine learning or related fields, or equivalent research capabilities.
- Over 5 years of experience developing and improving machine learning-based products or services in an industrial setting.
- Experience in defining ambiguous business problems as clear ML problems and designing solution strategies based on theoretical foundations and experiments.
- Proven ability to independently resolve complex and challenging problems, linking model performance to improvements in user experience or business metrics.
- Ability to align technical direction and persuade decision-making while collaborating with other researchers, engineers, and non-technical roles.
