Overview

Vacancy: Claims Processing Assistant. Employment Type: Permanent – Full time. Location: London (Hybrid).

We are seeking a detail-oriented administrative professional to join us as a Claims Processing Assistant. This role focuses on assisting members of Britannia P&I, The Wren Insurance Association and The Griffin Insurance Association with the payment and processing of claims. The Claims Processing team in London consists of 7 members and reports to the Head of Claims Processing. The team collaborates with departments such as Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and third parties across international offices.

The role suits a numerate individual with excellent communication skills and a good understanding of business systems and processes within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process third-party invoices and recoveries
  • Raise debit notes to Members
  • Review Member claims and raise corresponding credit notes
  • Maintain supplier contact details and add new contact details onto the relevant system
  • Respond to Members and Correspondents queries by telephone and email
  • Develop a good understanding of processes and procedures, ensuring adherence to policies and SLAs
  • Conduct sanction checks and call-back procedures for new bank accounts
  • Assist with ad-hoc and quarterly reports
  • Ad hoc duties as required

About You – Knowledge/Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of administration, claims or data processing experience in a regulated environment is essential
  • Experience of working in the Insurance industry is desirable
  • Ability to learn and work with Business Systems
  • Financial literacy and aptitude for working with numbers
  • Computer literate and familiar with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications/Education

  • GCSE Maths (Grades A-C) or equivalent

  • Communication: excellent written and verbal skills
  • Organisation: able to work methodically under time pressure
  • Teamwork: willing to work as part of a team and assist colleagues as necessary
