Employability Tutor to start ASAP in Humber, Permanent 4 day week, £25k to £27k (depending on experience).
Are you an experienced Trainer/Assessor with employability experience? As a Vocational Trainer/Assessor, you will be teaching learners the skills to secure employment, including how to produce a high-quality CV and how to tailor their CV for specific job roles.
Start date: as soon as prison security clearance is received. Based in HMP Humber, East Riding of Yorkshire. Hours: 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday (No Friday working). Salary: £25k to £27k (depending on experience) for 4 days. Permanent position.
Working 4 days a week plus great benefits including birthday off after first year of service, plus 4 loyalty days after 5 years of service, equivalent to 5 weeks holidays plus bank holidays per year, ongoing training, professional development and mentoring opportunities.

The Role As a Vocational Trainer/Assessor, you will guide and teach learners how to find and secure employment, produce a high-quality CV, what to include, how to present it, followed by teaching them how to tailor their CV specifically to available vacancies, taking into account the job role and employers' requirements. You will support learners to build confidence to open doors to their future employment, making a tangible difference in their lives and communities. Cohorts are between 8-10 learners each week (four-day course).

Our training provider delivers high quality training and assessments to meet contractual requirements, awarding body standards and in-line with policies and procedures. You will join a brilliant team where you will be given full support throughout.
Your role will be to deliver a high-quality competency-based course utilising training resources, fully understanding the standards for the course being delivered. You will ensure that all learner records are accurate and maintained in line with policies and procedures, GDPR and contractual requirements.
Making sure a full caseload of learners (in line with contract) is maintained at all times with the generating of starts through excellent communication skills and relationship building with learners and prison staff. You will help overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners' needs. Ensure all learners complete timely in line with our clients' delivery model and programme specification. Your role will include monitoring learner attendance and progress through regular learner reviews.
To apply for the role of Trainer/Assessor (Employability) in HMP Humber, we need you to hold either a recognised Assessor or Trainer award, for example: D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA and ideally have experience of managing a caseload of Employability Learners - A good level of IT skills. Flexibility to work at other locations (on occasion). Full, current driving licence and use of a vehicle, which is insured for business use.
