Looking for a better work-life balance without leaving the electrical industry? If you're an experienced electrician or electrical engineer who's ready to step away from site work, long hours, call-outs and weekend working, this could be the career move you've been looking for.
We're looking for an Electrical Learning Coach to join our clients Engineering team, helping Armed Forces Service Leavers develop new skills as they transition into civilian careers. These learners are motivated, engaged and genuinely want to be there, making this an incredibly rewarding role where you can use your industry experience to make a real difference.
No previous teaching experience? That's absolutely fine. If you have the right electrical industry background and a passion for helping others, we'll support you with the training and qualifications you need to become a successful trainer.
What's different about this role?
- Monday to Friday working – no evenings or weekends
- Excellent work-life balance
- Teach motivated adult learners who genuinely want to succeed
- Pass on your industry knowledge instead of working on-site every day
- Ongoing training and funded teaching qualifications
- A friendly, supportive team where you'll be encouraged to develop your career
As part of the recruitment process, we'll invite suitable candidates for an informal visit and show-around. This is a relaxed opportunity to meet the team, see the training facilities and find out what the role involves before deciding if it's right for you. There's absolutely no obligation—it's simply a chance to explore a different career.
The Role
As an Electrical Learning Coach, you'll deliver engaging, practical and classroom-based electrical engineering training to Service Leavers, helping them build the skills and confidence they need for their next career. You'll also:
- Deliver high-quality electrical training to awarding body standards
- Create engaging lesson plans and schemes of work
- Support the development and continuous improvement of training programmes
- Assist with assessments and exam invigilation
- Maintain professional workshop environments and training equipment
- Work closely with the Head of Engineering to ensure training remains current with industry standards

Don't have your 18th Edition yet? If you already hold your 17th Edition, we'd still love to hear from you. Our national training provider client can support you in gaining your 18th Edition qualification. Inspection & Testing qualifications would be advantageous, along with teaching or assessor qualifications, but these are not essential as full support can be provided.
You'll also need:
- Good practical workshop skills
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A positive, professional approach and a willingness to learn
Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants must be able to obtain Security Clearance and therefore have resided in the UK continuously for the past five years.
Most importantly, you'll have the opportunity to help Armed Forces personnel successfully transition into civilian careers while enjoying a rewarding role with a genuine work-life balance. If you've ever thought about moving away from the tools and into a role where you can inspire the next generation of electricians, we'd love to have an informal conversation with you.
