A respected and growing UK advisory and accountancy group is seeking an experienced Mixed Tax Manager to join its Tax team. This is a high-impact role working closely with senior leaders to deliver bespoke tax advice to owner-managed and family-owned businesses, collaborating with in-house specialists across general practice, private client, legal and financial planning. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of advisory projects spanning the full business lifecycle, take on meaningful client responsibility, and play a key part in mentoring junior colleagues — all within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

This organisation is a leading national multi-disciplinary advisory, tax and audit group, backed by an international network. It combines deep technical expertise with a people-first culture and a strong focus on practical, commercially minded advice. The group is known for:

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment with modern flexibility
  • Strong growth across corporate and private client tax services
  • High-quality, multi-disciplinary delivery for entrepreneurial clients
  • Ongoing investment in learning, progression and leadership development

You will manage the delivery of tailored tax advice, balancing review of junior team members’ work with hands-on preparation of bespoke reports for senior sign-off. You’ll work directly with clients and support senior leaders on pitches, building a visible profile across the team and market. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering multi-tax advisory projects for OMBs and family businesses
  • Working closely with Partners/Directors; reviewing junior work and providing coaching
  • Supporting business development, proposals and client onboarding (remote and in-person)
  • Advising on corporate reorganisations (e.g., share-for-share exchanges, buybacks, demergers) and relevant reliefs
  • Multi-tax considerations across CT, IT, CGT, IHT, VAT and SDLT
  • Employee share incentives (EMI, growth shares) including valuation support
  • EIS/SEIS qualifying conditions and advance assurance submissions
  • Tax valuations and HMRC clearance letters
  • Preparing clear, client-friendly written reports applying technical analysis to client facts
  • Supporting compliance as needed: reviewing OMB corporation tax returns and assisting audit/general practice teams with technical queries and computations

You’re a commercially aware tax professional who enjoys variety, client contact and mentoring others — with strong written communication and a solutions-led mindset. We’re looking for someone with:

  • CTA qualification preferred; ACA/ACCA and/or ATT advantageous
  • Extensive post-qualification experience advising owner-managed businesses
  • Strong working knowledge across CT, IT, CGT, IHT, VAT and SDLT
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills; excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior colleagues
  • Organised, motivated and able to manage competing deadlines and budgets
  • Ability to generate creative technical ideas and BD contributions
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the credibility to win client trust
