Role Description
The Private Client solicitor will manage a varied caseload, including wills, trusts, probate, estate administration, powers of attorney, and Court of Protection matters.
Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting clients, taking instructions, providing clear written and verbal advice, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and progressing matters efficiently from initial enquiry through to conclusion.
The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues, maintaining accurate file management and compliance with regulatory and Lexcel standards, and contributing to business development activities such as networking and client relationship management.
This is a full-time position based in our Ashby office, with a blend of office-based work and some work from home, depending on business needs.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent legal professional) with experience in private client work, including wills, probate, estates, and powers of attorney.
- Strong technical knowledge of relevant UK legislation, tax considerations for estates, and best practice in private client services.
- Excellent client care and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and practical advice to a diverse range of clients.
- Proven ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of file management and regulatory compliance.
- Confident in using legal case management systems and standard IT tools; comfortable working in a collaboration across multiple offices.
