We are seeking a dedicated Child Care Solicitor to join our growing family department, handling both fee-paying and publicly funded matters. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on meaningful and challenging cases within a supportive, client-focused firm.

Your role

  • Manage your own caseload of care proceedings, working closely with clients, colleagues and external agencies to deliver excellent outcomes.
  • Support the wider team by mentoring junior staff and contributing to the department’s continued growth.
  • Run care related cases allocated by the Head of Department/Partners.
  • Ensure client work is progressed efficiently with clear communication on costs and progress.
  • Advocate for clients in court and at key meetings.
  • Supervise and develop junior colleagues as agreed with the Head of Department.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with social services, guardians and other organisations.
  • Time recording, billing and credit control for your matters.
  • Ensure compliance with all SRA rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives.
