Sales Development Manager – North Carolina and South Carolina

The Sales Development Manager position is responsible for maintaining and growing market share of Diamond Drives by Timken (chain and auger products), as well as Timken Belts products and services for the assigned territory. This role involves managing day-to-day sales activities and other business processes, while maintaining strong connections between customers, engineering, management, operations, and sales teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with the Diamond Drives by Timken and Timken Belts business plans.
  • Identify, develop, and execute new business development opportunities, strategies, and tactics to achieve profitable growth exceeding market conditions.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships through regular face-to-face visits and interactions, requiring extensive travel and detailed post-sales follow-up.
  • Proactively analyze customer needs and issues, utilizing formal problem-solving techniques to drive continuous improvement activities and communicate customer needs (Voice of the Customer/VOC).
  • Assist sales management in planning, selling strategies, and market planning activities. Collaborate with Timken Regional Managers and sellers to promote, sell, and service the Diamond Drives and Timken Belts product lines.

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle).
  • Territory management and marketing experience.
  • Technical background and knowledge.
  • Understanding of mechanical power transmission principles.
  • Business management skills and experience.
  • Strong organizational, management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Self-directed and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience in industrial distribution.

Education

Bachelor\’s degree or equivalent sales experience or knowledge in relevant fields (belts and chain). Engineering, Business, or Marketing degrees are preferred.

Previous Job Experience

Minimum of 3 years in bearing and/or industrial motion product sales, with specific belts and chain product knowledge/applications preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this role is $95,000 – $120,000, depending on experience and education, with potential for higher compensation. This full-time position offers participation in the company\’s short-term incentive program, paid time off including 10 company-paid holidays, 401(k) or Roth 401(k) with company match after one month, quarterly contributions, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
