Due to continued investment and sustained growth, a global engineering organisation is looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly complex, innovative engineering environment, taking ownership of the full product life cycle for a range of cutting‑edge mechanical products in the energy sector.

As part of a global R&D team you will be involved in everything from initial concept through to manufacture, playing a key role in bringing next‑generation products to market and working closely with key customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full product life‑cycle design of mechanical parts, components, and systems
  • Deliver exciting new product development projects from concept to production.
  • Create both conceptual and detailed designs across a complex and innovative product range.
  • Collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure design success.
  • Produce and maintain accurate engineering documentation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Opportunity for global travel to customer sites

About You

  • Proven experience designing mechanical components and/or systems using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Inventor, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in full life‑cycle design, from initial concept through to manufacturing.
  • A formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Degree or equivalent)

Working Hours & Flexibility

  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Hybrid working: up to 2 days per week from home
