A global manufacturing organisation is seeking a Quality Engineer to join its Quality Assurance team near Bolton. This is a hands‑on position that plays a pivotal role in driving quality‑led improvements across manufacturing operations, ensuring process adherence, reducing waste, and enhancing efficiency.

About The Role

As a key member of the Quality function, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving product and process quality across the site. Acting as the link between Quality Control and Continuous Improvement, you will work both on the factory floor and with senior management to ensure robust quality standards and compliance are achieved throughout the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, specifications, and control plans.
  • Lead 8D investigations for customer complaints and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Support NCR/CAR processes, quarantines, and CAPA implementation.
  • Perform and maintain FMEAs, process maps, and SOPs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Whys techniques.
  • Analyse production data and KPIs to identify and deliver improvements using Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Support internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to embed sustainable improvements.
  • Provide training and coaching on quality control and continuous improvement practices.
  • Represent Quality in new product risk assessments, planning, and review meetings.

About You

Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or Process Quality Engineer with a strong understanding of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, APQP, 8D). Experience in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is highly desirable. Experience within automotive, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments is advantageous.
