Multicam Operator – Casual

Times Radio is a live news radio station launched in June 2020, with 600,000 weekly listeners, offering well‑informed, thoughtful news and discussion. We are growing and will be launching a fully visualised live‑stream on YouTube in 2026. You could be part of that exciting change as a Multicam Operator, working on live vision‑mixing and producing on‑screen graphics for the visualised output of Times Radio, and supporting the visualisation of talkSPORT, TALK and Virgin Radio.

Responsibilities

  • Vision‑mixing in a live broadcast environment
  • Visual content creation and project management
  • Correctly copy text onto on‑screen graphics
  • Liaise with the Visual News Producer/Editor and grab assets from folders
  • Ensure presenters and guests are framed correctly and constantly check the output
  • Be fully aware of all compliance issues including Ofcom, reporting restrictions, imaging and sports rights
  • Take responsibility for elevating our visual quality
  • Report technical issues through the appropriate channels
  • Monitor breaking news and stories across current affairs, politics and sports
  • Maintain the efficiency of Multicam (the playout software) and ensure servers are rebooted and storage is regularly checked and cleared

What we’re looking for

  • A passion for broadcast production with an eye for great video and an ear for great audio
  • In‑depth knowledge of news, politics and sport
  • A creative mind, ability to think differently about new concepts for radio and visualisation
  • Excellent understanding and use of technology, with a willingness to embrace change and suggest new initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and spot and correct errors quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, strong team player but able to work independently
  • You thrive in fast‑paced environments and can work quickly in small teams
  • Experience working closely with presenters and knowledge of how to engage with them positively
  • Understanding of relevant broadcast compliance and legal issues
