Team: The Strategic Planning & Pricing team is part of the broader Customer Engagement & Planning function. It is responsible for shaping the future of our consumer subscription business. The team develops pricing strategies, forecasts subscription performance, and supports long-term growth planning using data-driven insights. Our team works collaboratively with Finance, Marketing, Product, Data & Insights, and Editorial teams to provide commercial recommendations that inform acquisition and retention strategies.

Role: As a Planning & Pricing Analyst, you will support the day-to-day analytics and reporting needs of the Strategic Pricing & Planning team. This role is ideal for someone who is data-curious, commercially minded, and eager to learn how pricing, trading performance, and strategic planning contribute to the success of a modern media business. You will be instrumental in transforming performance data into actionable insights, helping to optimise pricing, track subscriber trends, and support strategic decision-making.

Day to day you will:

  • Analyse pricing and trading performance across the subscription lifecycle, including traffic, acquisition, retention, and reactivation.
  • Create, automate, and maintain recurring reports and dashboards focusing on key performance indicators such as volume, revenue, traffic, engagement, and lifetime value.
  • Support the evaluation of pricing tests and new propositions in collaboration with Finance and Data teams.
  • Assist finance and data scientists in modelling the lifetime value of different customer segments.
  • Conduct competitor pricing analysis and monitor market trends.
  • Perform cohort and behavioural analyses to uncover patterns in subscriber behaviour.
  • Contribute to scenario modelling and strategic planning to inform growth initiatives.
  • Prepare concise performance summaries and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with acquisition and retention teams to derive insights and identify risks and opportunities from performance data.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A keen interest in subscription businesses, media, and consumer behaviour.
  • Proficiency in SQL (essential) and familiarity with Google BigQuery (ideal but not required).
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) and the ability to present findings effectively using PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Experience in data modelling (ideal but not required).
  • Logical thinking with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • A highly organised and detail-oriented approach, with a desire to grow professionally.
  • Familiarity with concepts such as lifetime value (LTV), churn, retention metrics, or A/B testing (a bonus).
