Year 6 Teaching Assistant
TimePlan are recruiting for a welcoming and supportive primary school in New Malden is seeking an experienced and dedicated Year 6 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled TA who is confident supporting pupils in Upper Key Stage 2 and helping children with additional learning needs achieve their full potential.
The Role
- Supporting Year 6 pupils with their learning across the curriculum.
- Planning and delivering targeted maths and reading interventions to raise attainment and close learning gaps.
- Providing tailored support for children with additional needs, including Dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD.
- Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
- Supporting the teacher with classroom preparation and learning activities.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Assisting with lunchtime and playground supervision where required.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years' experience working within a primary school setting.
- Proven experience supporting Upper Key Stage 2 pupils, particularly Year 5 and Year 6.
- Experience planning and leading intervention programmes for maths and reading.
- Strong understanding of supporting pupils with Dyslexia, ASD, and ADHD.
- Experience supporting children with English as an Additional Language (EAL) is desirable.
- Experience supervising breaktimes and lunchtime duties is desirable.
- A patient, proactive, and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed academically and personally.
