We are currently recruiting a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support a busy and welcoming primary school. This is a class-based role, working closely with the class teacher to support learning and behaviour across the classroom.

There is an increased level of SEN within the class, so the successful candidate must be confident delivering targeted interventions and supporting pupils who may require additional help to access learning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher with the day-to-day running of a Year 1 classroom
  • Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions, particularly for pupils with additional needs
  • Support pupils with engagement, focus, and emotional regulation
  • Assist with phonics, literacy and numeracy activities
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment
  • Monitor progress and feedback to the class teacher
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
  • Be confident supporting pupils with additional and emerging SEN
  • Have experience delivering interventions (essential)
  • Have experience with Read Write Inc phonics (desirable, not essential)
  • Be proactive, patient and able to use initiative in the classroom
