This UTC in the borough of Barking and Dagenham, are looking to recruit a Teacher of Engineering and Product Design, to join their team from September. As a small, inclusive school, the Head Teacher is looking to recruit staff who share the same values, and who want to take the opportunity to make a real difference. Following a very successful Ofsted inspection, and with the number of students increasing each year, this UTC is looking to recruit a qualified, experienced Teacher of Engineering and Product Design. Working across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, this is an opportunity for a hard-working committed professional to work with students who are passionate about STEM and Media subjects. Although a small setting, working here gives you the opportunity to join a well-resourced, relatively new building, where you have world class facilities in Engineering and Media at your fingertips. You will become part of a supportive team, where there is a joint approach to working, students are enthusiastic, motivated, and keen to learn. Being a UTC, you will not be required to teach KS3.

The role is to start in September and will be for the full academic year.

To be considered for this Teacher of Engineering and Product Design role you must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • PGCE in Engineering and/or Product Design
  • Experience teaching Product Design to KS4 and KS5
  • Experience teaching Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering qualifications
  • Experience of BTEC verification process (desirable)
  • The desire to join a very successful department and UTC
