Are you a Behaviour Support Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Behaviour Support Assistant with experience supporting secondary-aged students with autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour? A growing specialist education group and alternative provision in Stockport, are seeking a calm, resilient and compassionate Behaviour Support Mentor to support young people with additional needs and barriers to learning. What you'll be doing Provide 1:1, small-group and classroom support to secondary-aged students. Support pupils with ASC / Autism, ADHD, SEMH and challenging behaviour. Build positive, trusting relationships and encourage engagement. Promote emotional regulation, independence and positive choices. Use de-escalation, restorative and trauma-informed approaches. Follow EHCP outcomes, behaviour plans and individual risk assessments. Adapt support to pupils' communication, sensory and learning needs. Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and wider professionals. Maintain accurate behaviour, intervention and safeguarding records.We're looking for someone who Has experience supporting young people with SEN, autism, ADHD or behavioural needs. Is patient, resilient, consistent and confident under pressure. Understands behaviour as a form of communication. Can build rapport and motivate students who may be disengaged from education. Has strong communication and teamwork skills. Holds a Level 3+ qualification in education, psychology, childcare, youth work or a related field (desirable).
