A high achieving Secondary School in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets is looking to recruit a number of SEND Teaching Assistants to join their busy team in September 2026.

The school has the highest expectations and ambitions for every student. Through a large investment, the school has recently completed their rebuild and the facilities are fantastic. This larger than average school is very supportive of their staff and is always trying to better their expertise. Having been graded Good in their last Ofsted, it was stated that "Leaders make sure that staff benefit from quality training to help them to contribute towards the school's priorities. From their monitoring, leaders identify the personal training and development needs of members of staff, which they then fulfil."

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and motivated individual who is looking to make a difference as a Teaching Assistant. The successful candidates will have a passion for education and ideally be looking to go on to complete their teaching qualifications. Experience of working alongside students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) would be a benefit. As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be joining a strong and supportive student support department. You will be required to work closely supporting students with varying SEND, so being adaptable is very important.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to students with additional needs, 1:1 tuition or to small groups of students with varying abilities.
  • Encourage and support individual pupils to reach their full potential while demonstrating a creative and determined attitude to help motivate students.
  • Directly support the students, and help to organise the teaching and learning resources available to students and staff.
  • Work with the team to ensure effective learning environments and smooth operation of lessons.
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Have experience of working as a teaching assistant (desirable).
  • Have an interest in the education sector.
  • SEND experience (desirable).
  • A recent graduate (graduated within last 2 years).
  • Ability to engage with and inspire young learners.
Contract and Opportunities:

The school is looking to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants who are able to commit to the full academic year. There will be the opportunity to go on to complete your teaching qualification through the school from September 2027.
