We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work full‑time in a supportive primary school in the Bexley area. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, SEMH, and complex needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide consistent, tailored support that helps pupils feel safe, included, and able to access learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom routines
  • Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and engagement
  • Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs and individual support plans
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
  • Providing a calm, patient, and consistent presence throughout the school day

Requirements

  • Experience working with children with SEN (essential)
  • Understanding of additional needs such as ASD, SEMH, or complex needs
  • Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to follow guidance and adapt support to individual pupils
  • Experience in a school or SEN setting (desirable)
