TimePlan Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming Special Needs School on the outskirts of Exeter. This is a full‑time, long‑term opportunity starting in September 2026 and continuing until February 2027. This rewarding role involves teaching a Year 7 class of 8-10 pupils with a range of communication and interaction needs. Although the pupils are secondary‑aged, they are working at primary learning levels, making this an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is confident delivering both functional skills and primary‑style lessons within a secondary SEN setting.

The Role
- Teaching a Year 7 class of 8-10 pupils with a range of communication and interaction needs
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
- Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs
- Creating a positive, structured and nurturing learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists and wider school staff
- Monitoring progress and contributing to EHCP targets and pupil reviews
Working Hours
- Monday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Tuesday to Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Has strong experience working with secondary‑aged pupils with ASD, ADHD and SEMH
- Has experience delivering functional skills, primary curriculum or lower‑attaining learner programmes
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and relationship‑building skills
- Is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential
