An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEN Teacher to join the dedicated team at a specialist SEN school in Exeter. The successful candidate will play a vital role in educating and supporting Year 7 pupils with MLD, ASD, and communication and interaction needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in line with the primary curriculum, ensuring each student's individual needs are met.
  • Work collaboratively with a Year 9 class, providing tailored support for pupils with MLD, ASD, and communication and interaction needs.
  • Support pupils in preparing for adulthood, fostering independence and life skills.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social and emotional development of each student.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, parents, and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to education.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with secondary age pupils with MLD, ASD, and communication and interaction needs.
  • Knowledge of the primary curriculum.
  • Passion for providing the best education in a supportive environment for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
