TimePlan Education is recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in South West London on a full-time basis with an immediate start. The role will continue until July, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to be taken on permanently by the school. The position will involve supporting a post 16 class, working closely with pupils with ASD, speech and language needs, sensory needs, and complex learning difficulties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is calm, patient, and passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

The school is looking for an individual who can build positive relationships with pupils, support communication and engagement, and work collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff. The ideal candidate will be confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, using structured routines, visual support, and positive behaviour strategies to help pupils access learning and regulate emotions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support pupils within a post 16 class
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD and complex needs
  • Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Use sensory and communication-based strategies to support pupils' individual needs
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to maintain a structured learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care where required
  • Promote positive behaviour and pupil independence
