A high achieving secondary school in Tower Hamlets is looking to secure a Premises Assistant to start as soon as possible on an ongoing supply basis. The school also seeks a Premises Assistant for a temporary to permanent role.

The main duties will include:

  • Support with the effective operation of sites, maintaining a good state of repair and appearance.
  • Work with the Facilities Management Team to ensure the security of the school sites, including opening, shutting down and alarming buildings and sites.
  • Monitor and maintain effectiveness and use of all alarms, fire equipment and exits, and liaise with emergency services such as police, fire and medical as appropriate.
  • Minimise trespass, deal with intruders, report vandalism, securely check electronic equipment and report any breaches of school security policies to leadership teams.
  • Understand and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations.
  • Maintain personal safety and deal with or arrange to be dealt with emergencies (e.g., electrical and gas) to ensure safety.
  • Ensure access, support and secure premises for all emergency services.
  • Liaise with contractors, workmen and other organisations: monitor their activities, enable completion of their work and supervise where necessary.
