Overview

Secondary Teaching Assistant

Job type: Full-time, long-term
Location: Mainstream secondary school, Oldham

Responsibilities

  • In-class support alongside the class teacher in core subjects
  • Working with small groups to reinforce learning and exam skills
  • Supporting behaviour, focus and engagement in lessons
  • Helping pupils prepare for assessments and GCSE exams

Requirements (must-have)

  • At least 1 full academic year\'s experience in a UK mainstream secondary school
  • Confident supporting pupils in KS3 and KS4 lessons
  • Strong behaviour management and classroom support skills
  • Minimum Level 2/3 TA qualification or degree (or in final year of study)
  • Good GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Desirable

  • Experience supporting small groups for GCSE intervention
  • Experience supporting pupils with mild SEND within a mainstream classroom
