Are you a patient, resilient, and engaging Behaviour Mentor looking for a rewarding role within an Alternative Provision school? We are working in partnership with a well-established Alternative Provision in Oldham that supports secondary-aged students (KS3-KS4) who present with challenging behaviour and additional learning needs. The school is seeking a committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team and support students in re-engaging with education through consistent behaviour strategies and positive relationships.
About the Role:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom, helping them regulate behaviour, develop positive routines, and access learning. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using agreed strategies
- Reinforcing and consistently applying school behaviour policies
- Supporting classroom engagement and learning alongside teaching staff
- Building positive, professional relationships with students
- Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and positive outcomes

The Ideal Candidate:

- Relevant qualifications (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or psychology-related degree) desirable but not essential
