Job Description:

We are seeking experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistants/Education Support Workers to join their dedicated team. The successful candidates will work on a 1-1 and small group basis, providing emotional and behavioural support, mentoring, and safeguarding both in and out of the classroom. A significant aspect of the role will involve supporting pupils in outdoor education activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 and small group support to secondary age pupils with complex trauma needs, challenging behaviour, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support, mentoring, and safeguarding in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist in planning and delivering outdoor education activities to support pupils' holistic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student behaviour and progress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with complex trauma needs, challenging behaviour, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Passion and flexibility for working in and outside of the classroom.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting students' individual needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support or education (desirable but not essential).
