A welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in North London is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join its dedicated support team from September.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, providing targeted support to students with a range of additional learning needs.
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and the SEND department to help pupils access the curriculum, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Dyslexia, Speech and Language needs and SEMH.
- Support students during lessons to ensure they remain engaged and make progress.
- Adapt learning resources and teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions under the guidance of teaching staff and the SEND department.
- Encourage independence, resilience and positive participation within the classroom.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate.
- Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
- Record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SEND team.
- Support students during breaktimes, educational visits and other school activities where required.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

- Experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting is desirable.
