Time Plan Education is recruiting a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bromley from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting a Year 4 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with the potential to become a permanent role.

The successful candidate will provide consistent 1:1 support, helping the pupil access learning, regulate their emotions, and develop positive relationships within the classroom.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to deliver tailored strategies that enable the child to thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation techniques.
  • Encourage engagement with classroom learning and promote independence.
  • Support the pupil during transitions, breaktimes, and other key parts of the school day.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
  • Record progress and contribute to reviews of the pupil's support plan.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in a school setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional learning needs is highly desirable.
  • Calm, patient, resilient, and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to use initiative.
  • Passionate about making a lasting difference to a child's education and wellbeing.
