We are seeking an experienced Admin/Cover Manager to join a thriving, Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in the heart of Lambeth. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced school environment and can effectively coordinate daily cover arrangements while supporting the wider administrative functions of the school.
Please note: Only candidates with previous school-based administrative experience and strong working knowledge of SIMS will be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Managing the daily cover arrangements for teaching staff, including coordinating both planned and emergency absences
- Liaising with supply agencies and external cover staff where required
- Maintaining accurate staff absence and cover records using SIMS
- Providing administrative support to the school office and leadership team
- Managing student and staff data, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date
- Supporting attendance and reporting processes
- Responding to enquiries from staff, parents, and external stakeholders
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times
- Essential: Previous experience working in a school administrative or cover management role
- Strong working knowledge of SIMS
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise and multitask effectively in a busy school environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
