We are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join an all-through specialist SEMH school in Guildford, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age groups. You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, manage their emotions and behaviour, build positive relationships and achieve their potential. The role will involve 1:1 and small-group support, assisting pupils with their learning and emotional development and helping them to engage positively with school. You will support pupils who may display challenging behaviour and help create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment. We welcome applications from experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, Behaviour Support Workers, Youth Workers, Support Workers and candidates with experience working with children or young people. Previous SEMH experience is desirable but not essential. The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, confident and compassionate, with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and remain calm in challenging situations.
