A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the heart of Central Islington is seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the early stages of a child's education.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils across EYFS and/or KS1, working closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide:
  • Targeted phonics support (including early reading interventions)
  • 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex needs
  • Emotional regulation and pastoral support
  • Tailored academic interventions to help children reach their full potential

This role requires someone nurturing, patient and proactive, who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff alike.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Proven experience within EYFS and/or KS1
  • Strong understanding of phonics programmes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Little Wandle or similar)
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, including complex needs
  • Confidence providing both academic and emotional support
  • A calm, resilient and positive approach
