Timeplan Education are working with a SEN school in Torbay to recruit a resilient, passionate, motivated and committed Education Behaviour Mentor to start in September 2023 on a long-term basis that could lead to a permanent role. Prior experience of supporting young people that have had a difficult upbringing and additional learning needs is essential for this role as you will be required to work within a challenging school environment throughout the day, supporting young people aged between 12 and 16 either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Some of the students have Autism and ADHD and others have SEMH / trauma-based needs. Your role will be to support their learning, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
This role of Education Behaviour Mentor is full-time, Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 4.30pm on a term time basis starting on 1st September 2026. This role could become permanent. The daily pay rate is between £95 and £110 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) depending on experience. The role of Education Behaviour Mentor is very rewarding and quite challenging. You will be fully supported by a highly skilled, friendly staff team; however, you will be expected to work on your own initiative at times to support the pupils in the best way possible.
What you can expect from this position:
- Provide support to SEN secondary students that are learning at primary level.
- Work with small groups of young people to carry out interventions.
- Use your experience and passion to engage with students.
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of learning activities.
- Supervising students during non-classroom time.
- Working closely with the staff team to identify any issues and develop appropriate solutions.
