This is a school that truly lives its values. Staff work closely together to provide consistently high-quality provision, and there's a genuine sense of teamwork and community throughout. The school has a welcoming, family feel where every member of staff plays a vital role in helping pupils succeed. They are now looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants / SEN Teaching Assistants to join their established and successful team, with an immediate start available. Previous experience working with SEN or SEMH pupils is highly desirable.
The role will involve:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, under the guidance of the class teacher or form tutor
- Helping pupils to access learning while supporting positive behaviour
- Promoting safeguarding, welfare and the wellbeing of all pupils
- Supervising and supporting pupils to ensure their safety and engagement in learning activities
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a strong role model
- Encouraging inclusion and helping pupils feel valued and accepted in the classroom
- Responding to individual needs with consistency, patience and understanding
- Using positive reinforcement and celebrating progress and achievements
- Being directly involved in behaviour management processes, including Team Teach and the supervised withdrawal of pupils when required, to ensure the safety of both pupils and staff
