An outstanding Secondary School located in the London Borough of Hackney is looking to secure an ICT Technician to start as soon as possible on an ongoing assignment.
This school has been an outstanding non-selective secondary school for the last decade and has consistently achieved excellent exam results, putting them in the top 5% for student progress. Many of the children who attend the school go on to study at Russell Group universities. They have fantastic modern facilities in a university campus layout, extensive IT facilities, large outdoor playing fields, and one of the largest post-16 centres in London.
The school is looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has had previous experience as an ICT technician within a school setting. The main duties will include:
- Managing computer hardware, software, and systems within the school and providing technical support to the school network to ensure effective IT provision for both curriculum and administrative purposes.
- Providing advice to other facilities and staff on the purchase of appropriate equipment to meet identified needs.
- Identifying and installing hardware and software to develop school systems in line with changing technology.
- Maintaining and actioning an effective helpdesk system, ensuring that tasks are logged, and effective feedback is promptly provided.
- Assisting in the resolution of network problems, maintaining and repairing hardware and software to enable the smooth running of all school IT systems.
- Becoming familiar with the needs of pupils and staff so that appropriate ICT hardware and software is available at the right time and place for teaching purposes.
