Starting September 2026, Timeplan are working with a specialist SEND School in South West London, supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs. We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Catering Assistant to join the school from September 2026.

The successful candidate will support the school's catering team with the day-to-day preparation and service of meals for students and staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and would like to work in a supportive school environment.

You will be expected to assist with basic food preparation, serving meals, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and ensuring the dining area and kitchen are kept organised throughout the day. As this is a specialist SEND setting, the successful candidate will also need to demonstrate a patient, caring and understanding approach when working around students with additional needs.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working in a catering, kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable
  • Previous experience working within a school or SEND setting would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety
  • Able to follow food preparation and hygiene procedures
  • Reliable, punctual and well organised
  • Friendly, approachable and able to work well as part of a team
  • Patient and comfortable working around children and young people with additional needs
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Online Update Service
