Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 12:30pm - 3:30pm

Salary: Grade £14.25 - £15 per hour

The Role

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and enthusiastic School Administrator to join a welcoming school based in Dorchester. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team, providing essential administrative support and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school office. As one of the first points of contact for parents, visitors, staff, and pupils, you will play a key role in creating a positive and professional experience for everyone visiting or contacting the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient administrative support to the school office.
  • Welcome visitors, parents, and pupils in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to email enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records and filing systems.
  • Support attendance monitoring and general school administration.
  • Assist with correspondence, data entry, and other office duties as required.
  • Ensure confidentiality is maintained in line with school policies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous administrative experience (school experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Possesses good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work independently and as part of a supportive team.
  • Is professional, approachable, and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
