TimePlan Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Oxford, offering the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs. With small class sizes, a personalised approach to learning and a strong focus on communication and independence, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to do more than simply support a lesson. The school caters for pupils aged 2-19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties and physical disabilities. Staff work closely together to help each pupil build confidence, develop essential life skills and achieve their individual goals.

The role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Help deliver engaging activities that encourage learning and development.
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Encourage independence and celebrate progress, no matter how small.
  • Work alongside teachers and specialist professionals to support each pupil.
  • Assist with personal care where required.

The ideal candidate:

We're looking for someone patient, adaptable and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs. Previous experience in SEN, education, care or support work is beneficial, but a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are just as important.

Why this opportunity?

Small class groups mean more opportunities to build meaningful relationships and provide individualised support. You'll be joining a specialist setting where teamwork, consistency and understanding each child's needs are central to everyday.
