Location: Secondary SEMH School

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only

Start Date: September

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school from September. This rewarding role involves supporting students throughout the school day, both within the classroom and in other learning environments. You will work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs.
  • Support students during lessons and around the school throughout the day.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and promote student engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider support team.

Requirements

  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate for Child Workforce registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to apply for one. If you need to apply for a DBS through us, the cost can be refunded after 20 days of work.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH is desirable but not essential.
  • A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people are essential.
